My design process is rooted in storytelling. As a writer, I learned how to discover the story in every new challenge; as a designer, I find the most creative way to share this story.
After studying English and art at Skidmore College, I became a copywriter. In my time at ad agencies, I wrote for brands like Axe, Quaker, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Mountain Dew. One time, I wrote a satirical infomercial for Mountain Dew where Dale Earnhardt, Jr. starred as the pitchman selling a new flavor of Dew. It aired.
Eventually, I decided to turn “designing on the side” into “designing all the time.” I went to Parsons for my graduate degree in graphic design, and proceeded to freelance for clients across fashion, sports, music, and more. Currently, I work for Secretly Group, where I design for our record labels (Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar, and Secretly Canadian). I also run the design for Not97.
